Purification Cellutions was recently named Business of the Year by the Burke County Chamber of Commerce. The company received the award at a chamber banquet on Jan. 25 as a result of its economic impact in the community through job creation, charitable giving and volunteerism.
“We are honored to recognize Purification Cellutions as this year's Business of the Year. They are a true asset not only because of the economic impact they contribute to our community, but the outstanding corporate citizenship they display as well," said Ashley Roberts, executive director, Burke County Chamber of Commerce.
John Nichols, plant manager, Purification Cellutions, said, “Purification Cellutions is honored to receive this recognition from the chamber. As we’ve expanded our facility, we’ve also sought to expand our reach in the community. We strive to be a positive influence in the community, and it is rewarding to be recognized for our efforts.”
In presenting the award, Texas Cates, alongside her husband Pete Cates, owner of TruFlame Gas Co., said, “What began with the employment of a few dozen working one shift in 2002 has now grown to over 200 employees on three separate shifts. Beyond the obvious economic impact to our community, this business is a regular financial supporter of various local events and organizations including Wimberly House Ministries and United Way, to name a few. Purification Cellutions invests time and financial resources to enhancing the economic prosperity of our county. Please join me in congratulating our 2018 Business of the Year.”
